Currently, there is nothing to protect people from the LGBT community against housing discrimination in ND. A person who is selling/renting out a house can kick out or wish not to sell to a person based on gender identity and orientation.
Parents of the same sex are not allowed to adopt children. Not only is this unfair to people who would love to have children, and who are fully capably of raising children; it also eliminates a percentage of potential homes for children without one.
There is nothing in this state that protects people from being fired or denied a job because of their orientation.
Also, as with 13 other states, this state will not recognize nor issue a marriage licenses to same-sex couples. There are actually laws PROHIBITING same-sex marriage.
Hate crime is completely legal in North Dakota.
In thins state, insurance companies can refuse to cover things when it comes to transitioning and heath care for a transgender person.

Although there are many negative things here in ND, there are some others that spark hope.
In the past 8 years, the support for the leglization of same-sex marriage. Now over 40% of the population of ND supports the idea of same-sex marriage, and hopefully, most, if not all will supoort it in the near future.
Over at NDSU [North Dakota State University] they have gender neutral bathrooms, along with support groups.
North Dakota was awarded money [along with other states such as SD, WI, and MN] this year [2015] to bring positive social changes on the views on LGBT+
